Connecting Dot: A Kindred Revue (2024)

Excerpts

Connecting Dot is an absurdist cabaret musical that contemplates: who preceded us, and how did their past relationships shape our present reality? Amy “Dot” Iaccarino is a twenty-something performer living in NYC. One night, she is visited by a divine presence, and the encounter flourishes into a miraculous vaudeville revue starring her ancestors. This work addresses generational trauma and existentialism by way of kitschy musical numbers sung by her family’s ghostly matriarchs, among them a grandiose narcissist, a jazz-singing mafiosa, and a rebellious immigrant from the Old World. Amy begins to see herself in their stories and mannerisms, and comes to terms with the centuries-long conflicts that live on through her.
